Bodrum–Berlin is a project space dedicated to artistic practices at the intersection of art, architecture, and social space in Berlin–Mitte by Daniel Theiler.

From below to beyond

The name Bodrum–Berlin reflects a close personal connection to Bodrum as well as the complex political and social entanglements between Turkey and Germany. Bodrum functions as an emblem of international relations, a border zone to the European Union, and a site shaped by global migration movements, while also evoking tourism and luxury.

In Turkish, bodrum also means “basement,” referring to the space’s location in the souterrain. Bodrum–Berlin does not understand this position as a retreat, but as a point of departure for encounter, exchange, and outward movement.

The Bodrum–Berlin Bar forms an integral part of Bodrum–Berlin as an autonomous sculptural micro-architecture. It functions as a social sculpture and a curatorial tool. The Bar can be installed indoors or outdoors, opened and reconfigured, and transported to other locations. It activates spaces and temporarily creates zones for gathering and exchange. Further information on the Bodrum–Berlin Bar is available upon request.

Open for collabs, proposals, and new connections. Feel free to get in touch anytime.
